Strength Center

Three-time NCAA All-American Craig Bunker didn't get to the top without having to clean out his lunch pail on a daily basis.  Colby College men's lacrosse named him their captain and Team MVP in both 2010 and 2011 because he knows that punching the clock is the way to win.

Our Athletic Performance Center is composed of all the needs a lacrosse player has in elevating their game.  Our dumbbell, kettle bell, and medicine ball supply enables our players to simulate lacrosse-specific movements and actions under resistance.  By the time they hit the field in the spring, explosiveness is at its height.

The goal of any training program is a very positive outcome marked by significant progress.  Injuries have no place in that equation.  Our LifeFitness F3 Treadmill has a patented FlexDeck ® system that reduces impact to joints by 30% via a shock-absorption system that is not present in nearly any other treadmill on the market.  Our machine is safer on the joints than running on street pavement!

For players who want to limit joint impact even further or recover from injury, we are equipped with a Reebok Cycle Plus recumbent exercise bike.  This unit also benefits athletes looking to maximize muscular endurance through lactic acid clearance training as it manipulates both the upper and lower body muscle groups.

As our strength center is focused on developing the lacrosse athlete specifically to their sport, we have a varied selection of Body Bars, the original weighted bar training tool.  Use of the great piece of equipment will enable our athletes to simulate the throwing, shooting, and checking motions with weighted resistance to increase shot speed and checking power.
